چکیده

High magnetic fields increase the sensitivity and spectral dispersion in magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS). In contrast, spectral peaks are broadened in vivo at higher field strength due to stronger susceptibility-induced effects. Strategies to minimize the spectral linewidth by optimal shimming are therefore of critical importance. The problem of shim requirements exceeding the active shim capabilities by far was overcome by a combined passive and active shim approach. In the present study, H MR spectroscopy was performed in the primary visual cortex V1 of the macaque monkey brain at 7 T.

A Simple Approach of Combined Passive and Active Shimming for In Vivo MR Spectroscopy at High Magnetic Field

High magnetic fields increase the sensitivity and spectral dispersion in MR spectroscopy. However, spectral peaks are broadened in vivo at higher field strength due to stronger susceptibility-induced effects. Strategies to minimize the spectral linewidth by optimal shimming are therefore of critical importance. In our current 7T MR system, the shim requirements exceeded the dynamic range of the...

MRS Shimming: An Important Point Which Should not be Ignored

Introduction: Proton magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS) is a well-known device for analyzing the biological fluids metabolically. Obtaining accurate and reliable information via MRS needs a homogeneous magnetic field in order to provide well-defined peaks and uniform water suppression. There are lots of reasons which can disturb the magnetic field homogeneity which can be corrected by a proc...

Comparison of state-of-the-art atlas-based bone segmentation approaches from brain MR images for MR-only radiation planning and PET/MR attenuation correction

Introduction: Magnetic Resonance (MR) imaging has emerged as a valuable tool in radiation treatment (RT) planning as well as Positron Emission Tomography (PET) imaging owing to its superior soft-tissue contrast. Due to the fact that there is no direct transformation from voxel intensity in MR images into electron density, itchr('39')s crucial to generate a pseudo-CT (Computed Tomography) image ...

Multicoil shimming of the mouse brain.

MR imaging and spectroscopy allow the noninvasive measurement of brain function and physiology, but excellent magnetic field homogeneity is required for meaningful results. The homogenization of the magnetic field distribution in the mouse brain (i.e., shimming) is a difficult task due to complex susceptibility-induced field distortions combined with the small size of the object. To date, the a...

In-vitro – In-vivo Characterization of ‎Glimepiride Lipid Nanoparticulates ‎Prepared by Combined Approach of ‎Precipitation and Complexation

Novel lipid nanoparticulates (NCs) were developed by a combined approach of precipitation and complexation with an aim to improve the solubility, stability and targeting efficiency of glimepiride (GLP). GLP NCs were prepared by precipitation process using PEG 20000 and further complexed with phospholipon90G (P90G). The NCs were evaluated for physicochemical characterization, such as drug lo...
